The Society of Television Lighting and Design

Lighting seminar at NFTS ~ 28th April

STLD members are invited to join the Guild of Television Camera Professionals at an event to be held at the National Film and Television School, Station Road, Beaconsfield, Bucks, HP9 1LG on the theme of  "There is always more than one way to light something".

Speakers will be John Henshall, president of the Guild, infamous for lighting Channel X with a converted dustbin and sun bed as well as the classic Spitting Image.  Our very own Bernie Davis will provide an insight to some of his shows such as Carols from Kings which also used unconventional fixtures.  The host will be Iain Davidson who claims to have lit one episode of Byker Grove with not much more than a torch and a bit of spun.  There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Timetable for Saturday 28th April:

  • 10:00 – Coffee & registration
  • 10:30 – Workshop start
  • 15:30 – Wrap

A buffet lunch will be provided, courtesy of the GTC and the STLD
